AFTER SCHOOL FINISHED that day, everyone ran across the playground really fast to tell their mums and dads who they were going to be, and what costumes they had to make!

Everyone was really smiley and excited. Except Liam Chaldecott’s dad. When Liam told his dad he was an innkeeper and not a Joseph, his dad took him to the school office to complain.

Mum promised to make me the best Mary’s helper outfit she could, but said she would definitely need Nanny’s sewing machine to help her.

Gabby said if I had a blue dress, we would be matching! So Mum said she would see what she could do.

Then Gabby said it was all so exciting, we simply must play our “I love Christmas!” game again – all the way home from school.

And guess what? There were still loads more lovely Christmassy things we could think of.

Plus Mum asked if she could join in our game too!

After we made her promise not to sing any more Christmas carols, we said she could.
